The Independence Events Center is a midsize arena located just 25 minutes from downtown Kansas City or 240 miles outside of St. Louis. This state-of-the-art arena opened in November of 2009 and features 5,800 fixed seats, 25 suites, and 2,200 parking spaces. The events center hosts a variety of events including concerts and sporting events. The facility is home to two professional sports franchises including the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League and the Missouri Comets of the (MISL) Major Indoor Soccer League. The Independence Events Center also has a year-round second sheet of ice called the Centerpoint Community Ice. Independence Events Center and Centerpoint Community Ice facilities are centrally located off of Interstate 70, Highway 40 and MO 291. New in 2012 is the largest in-stadium solar array in MLB as part of an energy partnership with KCP&L. The 120 panels on the Outfield Experience canopy will provide approximately 36,000 kWh of renewable energy each year.

This place has always served us the best food. This place truly defines "fine dining". The food is excellent, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the music (whenever available) is heavenly. We love this place!!! It is more than worth the trip from anywhere in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area to eat at this restaurant. Not to mention it is in the lovely Independence Square, so you can tour the historic buildings (old court house, the jail, Truman's house, etc) and then drop in for a lovely dinner to complete the day. It is not cheap, but it is well worth every penny that they charge...

The Court House Exchange is a casual pub where locals hang out and discuss news of the day, sports, politics, and civic matters. Located below street level, the rock walls, wooden bar, and fixtures lend the bar a cozy feel. Pop in for a hearty bite to eat or a cold drink with friends. The Court House Exchange serves some of the best sandwiches in town. Try our burgers & fries, the fried chicken platter, or a hefty pork tenderloin. It's all good!

Ice Cream, Shakes & Phosphates. OH MY! Clinton's Soda Fountain on the Independence Square is a real historic gem! Harry Truman worked his first job at Crown Drug Store in this very building. Stop by and see what an authentic Soda Fountain can be and don't forget to try our phosphates, ice cream, candy, pastries, coffee and so much more!!

On the square discover a cute, slightly funky space with nice people behind the counter, serving locally roasted Roasterie coffee and a small menu of reasonably priced sandwiches.

The history and beauty of the Rheinland is mirrored in many old folk songs still sung by the old and young all over Germany. Our wish is to bring some of this warmth and cordial atmosphere to our guests here at the Rheinland Restaurant.
